Dear customers,

In recent months, due to natural disasters in Japan and Thailand, Honda has experienced shortages of supply across several models.

Globally, Honda has been working tirelessly to resume production to fulfil customer orders and meet demand.

Thanks to these outstanding efforts, we’re delighted to announce that fresh stock has already started arriving, and will continue to improve in the coming months.

The best place to find out about availability of your model of choice is your local Honda dealer.

We’ve also just launched an all-new Civic sedan this March; and you might have heard, our new sporty Hybrid, the CR-Z, has been named 2011 Wheels Car of the Year.

One judge said: "A hybrid that's fun to drive... if this is the future, I'm there." We couldn't agree more!

We’re well on track for a big 2012, and all that remains is for you to join us! So why not order a brochure, or sign up to our eNewsletter; and we’ll be in touch with more updates soon.

Best Regards,

Stephen Collins

What if cars were powered with love and emitted happiness into the atmosphere?

If concept cars were now a reality? The Insight brings those dreams one step closer as the latest addition to Honda's hybrid family. The Honda Insight is the pinnacle of the evolution of Honda hybrid technology.

Honda's hybrid
technology

Known as Integrated Motor Assist (IMA), Honda's hybrid technology is made up of multiple components that all play the same game – provide a winning performance that is ecologically sound.

The 1.3 litre i-VTEC engine acts as the main power source. It is coupled with a 10 kilowatt, ultra-thin electric motor, which adds power while generating electricity on its own. This stunning powertrain is rounded off with a lightweight, compact battery and a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to provide you with responsive acceleration in the city and confidence-inspiring performance on the highway.

How the Insight works

By pairing a super-efficient petrol engine with an electric motor, the Insight helps you minimise fuel consumption and emissions. At every stage described below, the Insight drives positive change.

ACCELERATION

Any time the engine needs a burst of power - such as while accelerating, passing or climbing an incline – the hybrid system's electric motor "assists" the petrol engine, adding its torque to provide instant, ample response.

CRUISING

At low speeds on level roads, the car can be propelled solely by the electric motor, eliminating emissions completely. At higher cruising speeds, the highly efficient four-cylinder petrol engine takes over.

DECELERATION

The hybrid system can utilise the kinetic energy produced by the vehicle when the car is slowing, travelling downhill or braking. This can also help to slow the car while building up the energy stored in the batteries.

IDLING

Under most conditions, when you come to a stop the petrol engine automatically shuts off. When you take your foot off the brake pedal the engine restarts instantly. Through it all, the climate control system operates seamlessly.

Service anywhere

Service anywhere

Well, not anywhere. You can't service your Insight on the moon… yet. A common misconception is that hybrids can only be serviced at special, magical service centres light years away. While this might be the case for non-Honda hybrids, you can have your Insight serviced at any authorised Honda Dealership.

Battery

Intelligent Power Unit battery

An integral part of Honda's hybrid technology is its battery. It's like the heart of the machine, making everything work. This Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) controls the power of the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system.

And just like regular hearts, it's a self-sustaining unit. There is no power plug included with this hybrid because that's not the sort of battery this is. The great thing about the Insight's battery is that it recharges itself while on the go.
